In a bid to appeal to a more modern audience, the Louvre Museum will provide Nintendo 3DS to its visitors as a guided audio-tour device. Over 5,000 handheld consoles, specially provided by Nintendo no less, contains special itineraries as well as audio tours in seven languages.

Nintendo has even produced original content for the French museum, although the Louvre retains editorial control so do not expect any kick-ass RPGs in the 3DS.

It is not the first time Nintendo and the Louvre have collaborated. The two entities have already worked together for an episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Now, let’s see how the Louvre’s security would be able to hold on to these Nintendo 3DS. You can’t help but admit some visitors might be tempted to take it home with them.
